Head Paralegal Janice Markellos joined Schuchman & Marshall in 2004, bringing an extensive field . of expertise to the legal support team. A native of Indianapolis, Ms. Markellos attended the University of Indiana majoring in English and obtained her American Bar Association Paralegal Certification in 1994. During her studies, Ms. Markellos was honored in two consecutive years with the ECCC Legal Briefing Award. She is scheduled to matriculate from the UWLA School of Law in June of 2007 with a Juris Doctorate degree.

Ms. Markellos’ values service to her community. A long-time South Bay resident, she has volunteered at the Domestic Violence Clinic at the Los Angeles Superior Court, South West Branch, has interned at the Public Defender’s Office and is currently donating her time to the Legal Aid Clinic at UWLA.

A mother and step mother of four children, including a special needs child, Ms. Markellos has extensive experience in the special education arena, where she has worked as a parent advocate.
