A Merit Scholarship recipient and 2004 graduate of the San Francisco School of Law, Lory H. Nguyen
has already entrenched herself in both professional and civic service. She was the winner of both
the coveted Summer Fellowship at the Center for Law and Global Justice in Ho Chi Min City, and the .
Taiwan Ministry of Education Fellowship from the University of Texas in Austin, where she was also
a Thurgood Marshall Scholar.
Ms. Nguyen has been widely published, both as an articles editor and contributing writer for the
Journal of Law and Social Challenges, as well as a guest journalist for the Dac San Magazine. She has
co-chaired for the APALSA Conference, lectured for the Street Law Clinical program for the San Francisco .
Unified School District, appeared as a panelist for the National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorneys,
and received the Outstanding Service to the Vietnamese Community Award from the Vietnamese American Bar
Association of Northern California.
Prior to devoting her field of practice entirely to the issues of family law, Ms. Nguyen worked with
representatives in the U.S. State Department, U.S. Attorney’s Office and other governmental and community
leaders for policy advocacy and training on human trafficking conditions. She is highly proficient in
Vietnamese and is conversant in Mandarin.
