Ms. Schuchman has worked exclusively in the area of family law since approximately 1985. She has handled a variety of complex, high asset cases and numerous hotly contested child custody litigations, principally in the Los Angeles Superior Courts. Her clientele includes several high profile personalities in the entertainment industry as well as professionals, business persons, and homemakers.
Ms. Schuchman graduated from the University of Southern California Gould Law Center in 1976. While at USC, she was an editor on the Southern California Law Review and an invitee to Hale Moot Court. Ms. Schuchman was admitted to practice law in the State of California in December, 1976.
Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Schuchman worked at Loeb & Loeb in Los Angeles in the civil litigation department. In 1979, she joined the Beverly Hills law firm of Levine, Krom & Unger, which thereafter became Levine, Krom, Unger & Schuchman. For the past approximate nine years, Ms. Schuchman has been a principal at the Law Offices of Tina S. Schuchman, P.C., which became the Law Offices of Schuchman & Marshall, located in Brentwood, California, which employs five attorneys and two paralegals.
Ms. Schuchman has long-standing working relationships with accountants, business managers, personal managers, therapists, non-family law attorneys, and numerous other professionals -- all of whom have referred their clients to her office on a regular basis. In addition, Ms. Schuchman is presently a family law consultant to CBS News on family law matters, especially those involving child custody issues.
Ms. Schuchman is admitted to the California state courts, the Federal District Court, Ninth District Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and past member of the Executive Board of Directors of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, Family Law Division.
Three cases in which Ms. Schuchman represented parties were ordered published by the California Court of Appeals. The case of In re Marriage of Modlin, 176 Cal.App.3d 1176, 222 Cal.Rptr. 662 (1986) made new law in California in the area of jurisdiction. Ms. Schuchman has been chosen to speak at Continuing Education of the Bar courses to other family law attorneys in the area of child custody matters. She has also been appointed by judicial officers to represent children, and she has testified as an expert witness on the issue of attorneys' fees for other family law attorneys.
